Our Story
Pickering Homes is a locally owned and operated business owned by Bryce and Stacy Pickering. Bryce has been in the construction business for over ten years. The venture into home building began as a personal venture for Bryce and Stacy to build their own home. Bryce, being business minded and ambitious, took his ambitions of owning a commercial construction company and reworked them into the residential housing business. His background as a union ironworker provided the groundwork for being thorough in the knowledge of completing a project, literally "from the ground up."
We have focused on building the highest quality homes for the most affordable price. We take pride in the homes we build. Our focus is to build a home with no less quality and craftsmanship than we would build for ourselves. We feel so strongly about this, we decided from the beginning our name should stand behind our homes.
Our efforts have resulted in a client-focused prosperous business with great attention to our homeowners. We have new homes now spanning Porter County in neighborhoods such as Four Seasons on the Lake, Ravinia, Saddlebrook, Yellowstone, Windridge, Windsor Park, and now Eagle Ridge. Pickering Homes places great value on professional development. This is exemplified by belonging to professional organizations such as the National Association of Homebuilders, the Indiana Builders Association, and the Porter County Builders Association. It is also important within Pickering Homes to be active within these organizations, hence his serving on the Board of Directors for the Porter County Builders Association and is currently the chairman of the North County Builders Council.
Pickering Homes also places great value on obtaining available education designations available through the National Association of Homebuilders. Bryce is a Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) and also a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). He as a business owner has demonstrated his commitment to excellence by undertaking these continuing education courses in professional management. In addition to courses already taken to achieve these prestigious designations Bryce must also complete a regularly updated curriculum.
